Fudge at Lingerie London 2012

Old Billingsgate in London played host to Lingerie London last night, a charity fashion show and auction held to raise money for the Seven Bar Foundation. Lingerie London follows the huge success of Lingerie New York, which was hosted by Modern Family’s Sophia Vergara and Lingerie Miami, hosted by Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria. Agent Provocateur presented its first UK show in five years alongside acclaimed latex designer Atsuko Kudo.
Peaches Geldof and Abby Clancy were amongst the famous faces to be found on the catwalk, with Dawn Porter and Patrick Kielty on hand as presenters. Both Agent Provocateur and Atsuko Kudo made sure the girls were suited and booted, and Snowden Hill headed up the Fudge session team backstage.
A mixture of models, dancers, celebrities and hostesses graced the stylist’s chairs, making up a total of more than 100 women.

Lingerie London was presented by the Seven Bar Foundation, a charitable foundation which works to empower women across the world, helping them to start or grow their own businesses and break the cycle of poverty.

Atsuko Kudo, who notably has worked with Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Rihanna, was the first to present. The girls were given a second skin with their latex corsets, stockings and suspenders, and demure dresses had a sexy twist with a transparent finish. Snowden and the team created ‘50s beehives inspired by the film ‘In the Mood for Love’. “The collection is incredible – the designs are so feminine and sophisticated, and the hair needed to compliment that”, Snowden explained. “We decided on an expensive-looking beehive to give the girls the perfect silhouette”.

Get the look:
1. Prep Hair with Hot Hed Style Whip and dry through
2. Set hair in heated rollers
3. Apply Textures Creative Styling Dust to the root of the hair to create volume and lift
4. Backcomb to top section before smoothing and pinning into a sleek beehive shape
5. Secure with pins and set with Skyscraper

It was down to world-famous luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur to close the show with a spectacular three-part show that included models, dancers, aerialists and marines. The first section, Military, saw 13 dancers and three aerialists open the show, with Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding walking the runway. The hair was set in tight, glossy, low chignons with a side parting.

Get the look:
1. Prep the hair with Gloss and part as desired
2. Secure into low pony tail and tie with elastic band while making sure
the hair smooth
3. Wrap the ponytail around the base to create a low chignon
4. Secure with hair pins and hair net
5. Finish with Hed Shine

Next came the Goth section, opened by Peaches Geldof in a floor length purple and white lace gown. The models sported two hair looks inspired by Miss Havisham, with hair textured and loose but piled high, and some were topped off with delicate lace masks. Snowden said: “This look is the most dramatic – it’s sexy, textured hair that makes a statement”.

Get the look:
Wuthering Heights
1. Prep the hair with Pump Up, dry through and set in medium heated rollers
2. Apply Deconstruction spray to dry hair and brush curls out to create
a soft, textured wave
3. Create a centre parting and backcomb the top section of the head
4. Sweeping the hair up to create 40s-style victory curls, create two large horn-like shapes and secure with hair grips
5. Tease out some fly-aways and backcomb the stray hairs to give you that bed head sexy look.

The Naughty Edwardian
1. Repeat steps 1 through to 3 of the goth look
2. Backcomb entire head
3. Roll hair upwards and tuck to create a ‘U’ shape from ear to ear and secure with pins
4. Tease and backcomb the hair at the top of the head before finishing
with Skyscraper to hold in place

The final part was entitled Glam Rock. The designs featured metallic details and fringing, and a lot of glitter. The hair was inspired by Farrah Fawcett, with lots of volume and brushed-out waves set away from the face. Model and tabloid favourite Abbey Clancy opened the show, whilst husband and England footballer Peter Crouch looked on proudly.

Get the look:
1. Spray the roots with Root Juice to create volume and lift
2. Set hair in large heated rollers alternating the direction
3. Section hair around the crown of the head setting the roll away from
the face to give an outward glam 70s flick
4. Comb hair out and style with a small amount of Gloss
5. Set the look with Skyscraper

Other highlights of the evening included a lesson in luxurious latex from Atsuko Kudo, a successful auction, which saw presenter Dawn Porter and actor husband Chris O’Dowd bag VIP Glastonbury tickets for £12,000, and a seriously sexy production from Agent Provocateur. All in, Fudge’s collaboration with Lingerie London was the perfect way to follow the success of London Fashion Week.
